The registration for HDFC NetBanking has become easier with the introduction of online registration facility. One characteristic feature of this new way of registering your HDFC bank account for quick online transaction is that you can generate your password known as IPIN instantly and there is no need to have the same mailed to your location.

Besides being a savings or current account customer of the bank all you need to avail the facility is an active debit card issued by HDFC. The entire process involves visiting HDFC netbanking website, entering your customer ID, selecting an active debit card, providing debit card PIN and card expiry date, and finally setting up your IPIN. Now you can log in with this newly-created IPIN to access HDFC account anytime from anywhere.

Other Ways to Register for HDFC Bank Internet Banking

HDFC indeed offers a number of other ways to register for online banking. These may include registration through phone banking and ATM, and applying through a completed registration form at the nearest branch. The application form is available at the bank branch and it can also be downloaded from the official website of the bank.

Before applying for HDFC net banking facility you must have opened an account with the bank. Moreover, you may also need a customer identification number (CIN) or Telephone Identification Number (TIN) to use the phone banking method for Internet banking registration. HDFC netbanking also offers DirectPay facility to pay a third party vendor. With this facility you can shop online or pay for utilities and other services. You can even avail prepaid mobile recharge facility if your network service provider (Airtel, Vodafone, MTNL or Tata Indicom, for example) is included in the list of third party vendors.

Under the shopping category, the list includes vendors like Sifymail, Rediff, Indiatimes, eBay, and IndianGiftsPortal. You can book a movie ticket from Paymate and complete online booking of an air or rail ticket from providers like IRCTC, Indian Airlines and Spice Jet Ltd. If you reside in Mumbai or Pune Municipal area, you can even your property taxes online using HDFC online banking facility.
